Summary

Location: McLean, VA Employee Type: Part-Time Position Summary Vinson Hall Retirement Community (VHRC), a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community in McLean, VA, is seeking an energetic and passionate Community Events Assistant to join our Independent Living department. If you have a love for working with older adults and are dedicated to fostering a vibrant community, we want YOU on our team! * Associate's degree in a related field preferred. * Two years of experience in an Adult Care Residence (ACR) or nursing home setting preferred. * A genuine desire to work with a geriatric population and function as a team member. * Must have a valid Virginia driver's license, a good driving record, and be insurable to drive non-CDL vehicles. * Ability to develop a working knowledge of proper vehicle operation, including tie-downs, lifts, and steps for VHRC vehicles. Primary Responsibilities: * Engage residents in social and recreational activities, assisting them in living life to their fullest by offering diverse and meaningful experiences. * Plan, coordinate, and facilitate a wide array of activities that are aligned with residents' needs and interests, promoting their physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. * Support the department by maintaining compliance with regulatory guidelines and providing regular reports to the department manager and Administrator. * Assist in organizing special programs and events that aim to enhance community spirit, entertain residents, and raise awareness of the VHRC mission. * Provide emotional support to residents while respecting their privacy and maintaining confidentiality. * Contribute to the promotion of positive community engagement, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for residents.
