PRIMARY PURPOSE The Community Engagement Program Assistant will support outreach and engagement efforts, helping to strengthen relationships with families, community partners, and stakeholders. This role will assist in planning events, coordinating communications, and promoting OFSN’s mission through community-based initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Community Outreach (80%)
•Creating and executing marketing plans for community engagement events, workshops, and outreach activities.
•Develop brochures, flyers, social media content, website updates and other materials to support communication efforts.
•Develop and implement a social media strategy to engage community and families.
•Collaborate with other teams to ensure cohesive messaging and promotion.
•Track and evaluate success of promotional campaigns to identify areas for improvement.
•Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations and businesses to help promote OFSN's work.
•Assist in organizing and executing community engagement events, workshops, and outreach activities.
•Support communication efforts, including newsletters, eblasts, enewsletters and other promotional activities.
•Represent OFSN at community events, resource fairs, and meetings to promote education and advocacy
•Assist in gathering and sharing stories of impact to highlight OFSN's work.•Provide administrative support for engagement initiatives, including scheduling, preparing materials, and managing logistics.
Website Updates (20%)
•Assist in maintaining and updating website content to ensure accuracy accessibility, and alignment with organizational goals.
•Supports website and social media updates by writing and maintaining blog posts that enhance engagement and visibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Prefer direct experience as a parent or primary caregiver who has navigated multiple child-serving agencies, including but not limited to, mental health, addiction treatment services, child welfare.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to present and work with diverse audiences, specifically racial, ethnic, gender expression, socioeconomic, education, spiritual and alternative cultural backgrounds.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment requirements, which includes a criminal and abuse background check.
• Have reliable transportation, valid and current automobile insurance and an insurable good driving record, or access to reliable transportation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of, or ability to use, Google Workspace (such as Docs, Sheets, Slides), database, electronic health record software, and virtual platforms (such as Zoom and Google Meets).
• Experience in community engagement, event planning, outreach, or related fields.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse community and stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented, organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to develop innovative and engaging promotional ideas.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others.
