What you will do for Harris County Precinct 4 (HCP4) Harris County Precinct 4 is seeking a Community Engagement Manager who is a passionate coalition builder with expertise in effectively communicating with a variety of stakeholders. This role is essential in expanding engagement efforts and strengthening community partnerships. The Community Engagement Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of Community Engagement Coordinators, ensuring they meet their goals, and providing guidance. The manager will work collaboratively across Precinct 4 departments and report to the Director of Community Engagement. Job Duties and Responsibilities: The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. * Oversee the daily execution of regional engagement plans aimed at enhancing civic engagement and empowering communities. * Provide leadership and guidance to Community Engagement Coordinators, ensuring their efforts align with the Precinct's strategic goals. * Clearly and consistently communicate community needs to the Director of Community Engagement through reports, proposals, and memos as needed. * Ensure the production of timely and well-researched written reports to ensure that community needs are an integral part of the more extensive Precinct decision-making process. * Oversee the public speaking work of Community Engagement Coordinators as they represent the office at community events. * Lead internal teams on community engagement-related issues. * Drive community event planning efforts. * Develop an understanding of Precinct 4 policy priorities. Ensure that you and your team can communicate clearly and compellingly about policy issues affecting the Precinct 4 community. * Build coalitions with a variety of stakeholders to improve relationships, expand partner bases, and provide resources to constituents. * Contribute to disaster relief efforts as needed. Language: * Texas driver's license with a good driving record. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. * Strong knowledge of community building and organizing techniques to effectively engage stakeholders. * Ability to assess trends and provide recommendations for enhancing community programs. * Consistent follow-up and organizational skills.
