Ergon Inc. is seeking a Writer to join our Communications team. As a critical member of the Ergon Communications Team, the Writer is responsible for developing internal communications and marketing materials for the Ergon companies. The Writer must seamlessly transition between long- and short-form content, including employee publications, social media, press releases, industry publications, creative marketing material, web content, and many other forms of communication. "Journalistic-style" writing and interview skills are also required as the Writer must interview and collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to produce industry-relevant articles and internal publications. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional writing skills and a keen eye for detail.
Education and Experience Requirements:
* A bachelor's degree in English, communications, marketing, or a related field is required.
* Minimum of three years of experience writing content for an agency, communications department, freelance clients, or publications.
* Creative self-starter with the ability to work under pressure, independently, and in a team setting; detail-oriented and comfortable meeting strict deadlines.
* Professional experience as a journalist preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Create and implement content marketing strategies focusing on quality and consistency.
* Write and edit content for various communications, including in-house magazines, a newspaper, websites, newsletters, marketing materials, press releases, blogs, and internal communications.
* Edit and proofread all written content to ensure accuracy and alignment with brand voice.
* Oversee work produced by interns and freelance writers, ensuring quality standards are met.
* Collaborate with the Communications Team to develop brand-aligned assets.
* Maintain awareness of current digital and content trends.
* Understand Business-to-Business writing and use content management systems such as WordPress.
