Summary

About The Role

We are looking for a skilled Communications Officer to manage internal and external communication channels effectively. The ideal candidate will ensure clear, consistent, and aligned messaging across various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, parents, students, alumni, partner institutions, media, and the public.

Job Purpose

The Communications Officer oversees all communications, coordinating with different departments to ensure that all materials reflect the organizations identity and values.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Communications

  • Review and disseminate official communications (memos, letters, emails, social media, videos, posters, etc.)
  • Manage internal communication platforms such as onsite displays, bulletin boards, email, and messaging groups
  • Develop and release official templates for memos, slides, and other materials
  • Prepare greetings and special event materials for faculty, staff, and students
  • Manage communication-related digital tools, including Zoom accounts and internal policies


External Marketing

  • Manage official social media accounts and website
  • Oversee affiliated social media channels related to student groups, alumni, and other stakeholders
  • Lead student recruitment marketing efforts and chair related committees
  • Support recruitment marketing for faculty and staff
  • Assist alumni engagement initiatives
  • Coordinate marketing efforts with senior leadership


Strategic Initiatives (upcoming projects)

  • Develop resource websites for recorded events and materials
  • Create centralized communication channels for all stakeholders
  • Develop a brand book to guide communications
  • Moderate student publications
  • Expand the organizations presence in public and online media


Professional Growth

  • Keep updated with relevant regulations, industry trends, and technologies via training and seminars


Other Duties

  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, preferably in education or similar settings
  • Strong writing/editing skills for news, feature articles, and social media content
  • Proven relationship building and stakeholder management experience


Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and leadership capabilities
  • Ability to multitask and independently manage projects
  • Proficient in digital communication tools and platforms
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Knowledge of media relations is a plus
