Our IS4S Ogden, Utah location is seeking to hire an experienced communications engineer to support the development of a modular, open communication system for unmanned airborne platforms. In particular, we are looking for candidates who are self-starters, teachable, and able to learn new things as they work together with others to solve challenging technical problems. Work varies based on the project from core, low-level development to high-level designs for system architectures that interact with other DoD components. Job Role(s): This position will: Provide technical expertise in the design and porting of waveforms to software defined radios (SDRs) Provide technical expertise in the development of standards based SDRs for the DoD Serve as a technical team member or task leader as required. Oversee sub-contractor integration of government owned waveforms that provide the PHY, Link/MAC, and Network solutions Maintain and expand knowledge of relevant technology as assigned. Participate in special projects as required. The successful candidate will have: Strong desire to contribute to overall team success Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills High degree of proficiency and experience with datalinks Required experience: Required Experience and Skills: MUST BE US CITIZEN: Ability to obtain an Active Secret Level Security Clearance B.S. required in relevant field with M.S. or Ph.D. preferred Prior experience working within tactical waveforms Prior experience working with software defined radios Proficiency with embedded software development Proficiency with RF hardware design and testing SMEs may be required to travel.
