Job Title: Communications Electronics Maintenance Instructor

Location: Camp Lejeune, NC

Overview:

SkyBridge Tactical is seeking a motivated Communications Electronics Maintenance Instructor that has the knowledge, skills and attributes to implement and evaluate instruction on the operation, functional administration, configuration management, networking and maintenance of the communications system(s), subsystems and equipment controls; execution of diagnostic tests and interpretation of results; removal and installation of major components; determination if the system/subsystem is malfunctioning; isolation and location of malfunctions in the Line Replaceable Units (LRU); replacement of defective LRU’s; troubleshooting and repair of system and subsystem malfunctions, and performance of routine preventative maintenance functions. The instructor will review and provide recommended changes to course curricula, lesson plans, student guides, and audio-visual aids in support of lesson material and examinations. They will deliver instruction incident events identified for the Assault Amphibious Family of Vehicles (FOVs), and the associated training systems. Must be responsible for the upkeep of his or her assigned periods of instruction and other administrative tasks associated with maintenance of the communications curriculum

Responsibilities:

The Communications Electronics Maintenance Instructor’s Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Deliver classroom and practical instruction on the configuration, operation, and maintenance of ACV FoV communications systems and subsystems.
  • Instruct service members on the use of very small aperture terminal-expeditionary (VSAT-E), high frequency (HF), very high frequency (VHF), super high frequency (SHF), and ultrahigh frequency (UHF) radios (vehicular and manpack), including antennas and power sources.
  • Guide students through establishing contact with distant stations, performing frequency changes, using cryptographic equipment, and maintaining radio equipment to first echelon standards.
  • Conduct diagnostic tests and assist students in interpreting results, isolating malfunctions, and executing repairs and component replacements (LRUs).
  • Lead training on spectrum analysis tools, transmission security (TRANSEC), and communications security (COMSEC) protocols.
  • Utilize programs of record and field-expedient antennas to demonstrate communications network integration and operations planning.
  • Perform equipment inspections, preventive maintenance checks, installations, and OPCHECKs in support of training and readiness.
  • Review and recommend updates to lesson plans, student guides, instructional materials, and training aids.
  • Interface with New Equipment Training Team (NETT) staff in a custodial role for controlled cryptographic items (CCI), inventory control, and mission readiness.


Required Qualifications:

  • Must be current USMC Swim Qualification Intermediate, or capable of qualifying as such.
  • Must have a current SVET qualification or capable of qualifying in the SVET.
  • Extensive experience in communication electronics maintenance, troubleshooting, system diagnostics, and equipment operations.
  • Familiarity with VSAT-E, HF, VHF, SHF, and UHF communications systems, including spectrum analysis and cryptographic protocols.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend technical English terminology related to the operation, repair, installation, maintenance, and integration of communications equipment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with modern instructional technologies.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to interact with Government personnel and training teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior military experience within the armored vehicle community with an emphasis on 4 years experience in an Assault Amphibian Battalion as an operator, mechanic, or communicator.
  • Prior military experience within the Stryker Combat Vehicle community as an operator, mechanic, or communicator.
  • Preferred graduates of Instructor Development Course (IDC) and or Curriculum Developers Course (CDC). Prior Formal Learning Center experience is a plus.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
