  Additional Information: TITLE: Communications Coordinator FTE: 1.0 FLSA STATUS: Exempt WORK CALENDAR: 260-262 days COMPENSATION: Classified Exempt Compensation Guide (Starting Salary: $54,805) ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Assist the Communications department in developing and implementing communication strategies designed to further district objectives
* Serve as the primary emergency response writer, responsible for drafting and distributing timely, accurate, and clear communications to parents, staff, and community stakeholders.
* Work closely with the Director of Communications to coordinate messaging and collaborate with the Public Information Officer (PIO) and other community partners to ensure consistent and effective public communication.
* Act as the primary writer for press releases, news articles, superintendent messaging, etc.
* Provide ongoing support of department projects and associated deadlines
* Plan, organize, coordinate, and execute special events; manage the associated budgets, including the procurement of services and/or goods.
* Coordinate and execute social media campaigns and ensure alignment with the overall marketing campaign and district goals
* Create promotional materials to market the district's schools, educational programs, departments, partnerships, etc.
* Devise plans and strategies to maintain a unified marketing strategy for the district and schools
* Bilingual staff will be responsible for providing translation services for department communications
* Help develop and strengthen relationships with schools, community organizations, businesses, etc.
* Collaborate with all departments and school sites to support district-wide communication and marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment of messaging and brand
* Oversee and mentor a student intern, providing guidance on communication-related projects, supporting skill development, and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks aligned with department goals.
* Interact with parents, outside agencies, businesses, and the community to enhance understanding of District initiatives and priorities to elicit support and assistance.
* Keep well informed about current trends and best practices in areas of responsibility.
* Represent the District consistently in a positive and professional manner.
* Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, parents, and school issues.
* Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents, and community.
* Perform responsibilities in an ethical and professional manner.
* Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
* Perform other related duties as assigned, including special projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associates degree or higher in Communications, Marketing or related field, preferred 2. Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance CardExperience 1. Minimum three years of communications and/or marketing preferred 2. Superior time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines 3. Ability to work well with others and with minimal supervision 4. Must be 21 years of age or older upon hireCommunication Skills 1. Strong writing, literacy, and communication skills; uses effective communication strategies to interact with a variety of audiences 2. Proficient public speaking abilities are an asset 3. Bilingual communication preferredComputer/Technology Skills 1. Proficient with Google Suite. 2. Experience with social media platforms preferred. 3. Experience with Canva or related software preferred.
