Summary

Nestled in the leafy suburb of Barden Ridge in Southern Sydney, Shire Christian School has been providing high quality Christian education for nearly 50 years. With over 900 students enrolled across Prep to Year 12, we seek to create a culture where every child is part of a community that feels like family.


We are currently seeking applications from committed Christians for a Communications and Digital Content Coordinator. Through high-quality, visually impactful and engaging storytelling that conveys the values and culture of Shire Christian School, this role helps parents to be connected and informed, promotes the school's reputation, and contributes to sustainable enrolments. 


This is a 2 or 3-day per week part-time position (negotiable) with usual hours of 8am-4pm. 


Working as part of the Communications Team, the role will include: 

  • video production and photography. 
  • storytelling – producing articles and content which highlight the achievements of our students. 
  • newsletter, yearbook and website content creation, curation and production. 
  • social media content planning and creation. 
  • publishing written communications to parents, ensuring they are timely, consistent and clear. 
  • assisting with advertising campaign creation and developing the school’s reputation through PR and media opportunities. 


The successful candidate must: 

  • have proven experience in content creation, photography, videography, and video editing. 
  • have excellent written communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team. 
  • have an attention to detail. 
  • be proactive, punctual and reliable, whilst prioritising tasks and working to deadlines. 
  • hold a current WWCC prior to commencement. 


Preference will be given to applicants who have: 

  • completed prior study or currently studying communications/journalism/media. 
  • experience in a communications role, especially in a school, church or NFP. 


The successful applicant should be a committed Christian actively involved in a church community. All employees at Shire Christian are expected to be personally committed to the school’s Mission, Vision and Statement of Faith with a clear understanding of reformed evangelical theology.
