Position Summary
The Communication Specialist - Executive and Strategic Communications reports to the Vice President of University Advancement and works closely with the Secretary of the Board of Trustees and the Office of the President.
The position will be responsible for developing executive-level communications, speech-writing, development of presentations, and leading strategic communication response efforts for internal and external audiences. It will also actively participate in and support the Board of Trustees and the Presidential team to ensure the quality of communications with internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements Additional Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field.
* Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* Experience working with various levels of management.
* Must possess strong time management skills.
* Must possess exceptional writing and communication skills for a wide variety of audiences.
* Ability to consistently demonstrate a high degree of accountability, personal integrity, and emotional maturity.
* Willingness to respond to incidents after hours and travel when necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience in Higher Education
