Commissioning Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Commissioning Engineer to support the successful delivery of data centre and other complex building services projects. Working as part of a high-performing project team, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commissioning process from pre-construction through to project handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commissioning activities across multiple project stages, including planning, construction, testing, and handover
• Ensure familiarity with and adherence to all project documentation, technical specifications, and safety protocols
• Coordinate commissioning deliverables and schedules to align with overall project timelines
• Monitor and inspect MEP systems and installations, ensuring they meet the standards outlined in the approved quality plans
• Support the implementation of commissioning plans, FATs/SATs, and system validations in collaboration with MEP subcontractors and the design team
• Identify and resolve commissioning issues promptly to maintain project momentum
• Maintain clear documentation and records to support testing, commissioning, and client handover processes
• Ensure all M&E works are executed to the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
• Contribute to project reporting, including snagging, completion tracking, and performance testing documentation

Requirements

• Relevant third-level qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a recognised trade background
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in building services coordination and commissioning
• Strong working knowledge of MEP systems within data centre, industrial, or large commercial projects
• Prior experience with main contractors or large subcontractors is preferred
• Familiar with commissioning processes, quality systems, and safety requirements
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Revit, BIM, or commissioning software is a strong advantage
• Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
