Job Summary
The Commercial Estimator-Project Manager will be responsible for estimating, planning, and managing commercial electrical projects from inception to completion. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, and client-focused service. The ideal candidate will have experience in electrical estimating and project management within the commercial sector and be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities
Estimating:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial electrical projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope and requirements.
Work with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing and ensure competitive bids.
Assist in preparing bid proposals and submitting estimates for review.
Create accurate invoices for completed work.
Request and invoice change orders.
Project Management:
Oversee the execution of commercial electrical projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and adjust plans as needed.
Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure all project requirements are met.
Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance.
Resolve any project-related issues promptly and effectively.
Supervise electricians to ensure compliance with company policies, employee handbook guidelines, and all safety standards, while promoting a culture of accountability and safety excellence.
Client Relations:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring satisfaction.
Provide regular project updates and communicate changes or adjustments as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and financial records.
Prepare project status reports, budget tracking, and final closeout documentation.
