Summary

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a well-established agency serving middle-market clients. The average account size is approximately $200,000 in premium, and this role will be responsible for managing the renewals of roughly 45 commercial accounts, many of which are long-standing client relationships.

This position focuses heavily on account retention and service. A dedicated claims manager handles most claims-related responsibilities, and a marketing manager oversees new business processing up until the account is bound. Once bound, a structured transition occurs between the marketing team, the producer, and the account manager to ensure seamless onboarding.

Industry Focus:

The agency has developed strong specialization in industry verticals including:

  • Commercial Construction
  • Oil & Gas
  • Rigging
  • Private Education

This role will specifically support clients in the Heavy Construction Insurance segment. Familiarity with construction-related endorsements such as Additional Insured provisions is highly valuable.

Operating System: Applied Epic

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily service needs of assigned accounts, including renewals, endorsements, billing, and certificates.
  • Submit and track service requests with insurance carriers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Review and process policy documentation and billing items, verifying correctness prior to delivery.
  • Coordinate with marketing and underwriting teams to prepare renewal submissions.
  • Collaborate with producers to prepare renewal strategies and client documentation.
  • Prepare binders, invoices, and finance agreements for renewals.
  • Provide basic documentation related to claims; a dedicated claims manager handles most claims work.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience managing mid-size to large commercial insurance accounts.
  • Current Property & Casualty license (Required).
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant industry designations preferred or in progress.
  • Strong understanding of construction-related insurance coverage and endorsements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Applied Epic preferred.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize effectively, and support collaborative efforts across teams.

Key Attributes:

  • Client-focused with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Positive, respectful, and committed to contributing to a values-driven agency culture.
  • Maintains confidentiality and demonstrates professional integrity at all times.

Schedule & Location:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Hybrid work environment (partial remote/flexible in-office)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $75,000–$95,000/year (depending on experience)
  • 401(k) with automatic 5% employer contribution (regardless of employee contribution)
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Flexible schedule
  • Professional development assistance

Work Location: In person, with hybrid flexibility available

License Requirement: Property & Casualty License (Required)
