The Role:


Reporting to the General Manager, Operations and Maintenance, the Commercial Contracts Manager is responsible for overseeing the commercial operations of Squadron Energy’s operational assets. The primary purpose of the role is to manage contract performance and supplier relationships to ensure contract obligations are met and service availability optimised.


The Commercial Contracts Manager will play a key role in developing and implementing effective commercial systems and processes across the SQE operational portfolio and may involve travel to other office locations and sites to engage and liaise with broader Squadron Energy (SQE) teams and relevant stakeholders. This role can also be based in any of SQE'S East Coast Offices.


Key responsibilities:


  • Managing the day-to-day operations of commercial activities, including financial and commercial obligations under contracted services, contractual obligations, procurement, good governance, compliance and within our social licence to operate.
  • Negotiate and recommend for approval key operational service agreements focusing on operational efficiency, asset optimisation, and alignment with Squadron Energy values.
  • Develop KPI’s and efficiency metrics to drive and measure value-adding.
  • Prepare contract documentation including contract notices, schedules, and supply agreements in consultation with Squadron Energy Legal.
  • Ensure commercial risks are identified, assessed, and managed in a proactive manner.
  • Collaborate with the relevant Site Operations Manager to manage contract claims, availability claims, defect claims and contract disputes.
  • Custodian of all operational agreements ensuring accuracy and maintenance.
  • Provide advice and support to other team members on contractual issues
  • Facilitate contract approvals in line with the SQE Delegation of Authority.
  • Support procurement activities including the preparation of procurement documentation, and the facilitation of sourcing processes for new service providers.
  • Support financial and budget forecasting activities, including capital expenditures, operating expenses, and other costs associated with providing services.
  • Build productive internal and external relationships to facilitate the delivery of effective business outcomes.
  • Provide support and advice on new potential businesses opportunities.
  • Facilitate a continuous improvement culture and environment throughout the ramp -up of operations and beyond.


About you


You will have:


  • Proven senior level commercial experience managing major service provider contracts within renewables, oil and gas or an energy related industry.
  • Significant senior commercial level experience.
  • Proven experience negotiating and implementing operational service contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing contractual documentation including contract notices, schedules, and
  • supply agreements.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships, performance management and contract risk management.
  • Experience developing and implementing KPIs and SLAs highly desirable.
  • Experience managing operational contract obligations, service availability claims, defect liabilities, and contract disputes.
