Position Overview:

A Machine Operator ensures that the quality of the product is up to the customer’s standards. He or she must meet or exceed production, quality and efficiency requirements at all times. The individual must ensure conformance to all health and safety policies, rules and regulations and general housekeeping standards. Must have a very good working knowledge of 2200 Mark Andy.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Ensure the duties are performed as per the job card.
• Manufactures orders within a given time limit.
• Do general machine maintenance as set out by the maintenance plan.
• Ensures correct core size/die size and paper are used for the specific job.
• Adhere to health and safety policies, rules and regulations and general housekeeping standards.
• Ensure the checking for any job cards left by the planner for the day and execute before day end.
• Double-checks the raw material placed on the operating machine by the planner.
• Ensures the correct components are used for each order, paper, inks, etc.
• Limits waste of material, set up to be done within the allowed set-up boundaries.
• Ensure the prevention of non-conformances.
• Adhere to the highest quality standards set out by management.
• Looking after equipment and the safe storage of these.
• Assist with the ordering of plates for colour work.
• Signs off artwork with the Quality Manager.

• Knowledge of general office procedures.

Minimum requirements:

• Must have Grade 12.
• Post Matric Qualification.
• 5 years of experience on a 2200 Mark Andy, as a colour machine operator.
• Basic mechanical understanding of the 2200.
• Good knowledge of various types of paper or raw materials.
• Good understanding and experience in using ink.
• Good communication verbally and in writing in English.
