Position Details

The Collections Coordinator will work closely with the Billing Department, the Account Management Team and our Attorneys to collect outstanding accounts receivables. The position will be responsible for the control, monitoring and collection of accounts receivables that they have been assigned. We are seeking a positive, hard-working individual who has a customer-service approach in their dealing with attorneys and clients while following up on delinquent client accounts.

Supervisor: Collections Manager

Location: New York office (Three days a week on site)

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 100 client matters.
  • Contact clients by phone and email.
  • Work closely with the Account Manager and Attorney to strategize on the best course of action to expedite collection.
  • Take actions to encourage timely payments.
  • Keep Collections Manager informed about all difficult and complex collections issues.
  • Keep meticulous and timely collection notes.
  • Analysis and reconciliation of detailed transactions
  • Prepare weekly forecast of cash collections.
  • Handle various administrative tasks such as sending W9 Forms.
  • Check invoice status on eVendor payment portals.
  • Work closely with the Accounts Receivable team to ensure payments, write-offs and internal cash transactions are processed timely and accurately.
  • Work on special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • College graduate with a degree in Business Administration, Management, or Accounting is preferred.
  • Two to four years of law firm experience preferred.
  • Maintains thorough follow-up and documentation of accounts via multiple software systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as the ability to provide professional customer service by phone and email is required.
  • Ability to follow through to completion of assigned projects.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Outlook and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Elite 3e and ARCS a plus.
  • Well organized self-starter, positive attitude and a team player.

At the time of posting, the salary range for this role is $60,000 (minimum) – $75,000 (maximum). This range is based on a full-time work schedule. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary bonus. The successful candidate’s actual salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications, training, skills, and market data.
