The position of CNC Router Operator is responsible for programming, operating, monitoring and maintaining the CNC Router Machine.
DUTIES
- Program, operate, monitor and maintain the CNC Router Machine
- Produce products by programming, setting up and operating the machine
- Creates cut files by studying work orders and blue prints and then programs the CNC machine appropriately
- Cuts accurate pieces of signage using the correct materials
- Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock.
- Working knowledge of computer graphics software is a plus including Illustrator and Corel Draw.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Verifies setting by measuring positions, first run-part, and sample workpieces; adhering to required specifications.
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Follow the rules and regulations related to the safety of all employees working for the Company.
Skills
To become a part of our team we require applicants for our CNC Router Operator position to have the following qualifications:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic mathematical skills, ability to read a tape measure
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communications skills
- Ability to read blue prints and interpret sign/shop drawings and specifications
- Ability to multi-task and handle numerous projects simultaneously, time management
EDUCATION
- Highschool diploma, GED or the equivalent of training, education and experience.
Experience
- Two plus years of experience as CNC Operator. Sign industry experience preferred
- Familiarity with CAD software and CNC programming
