Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies including use of personal protective and other equipment as required.
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
- Adequate and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Responsible for day-to-day machine shop coordination of programming issues.
- Generation of CAM System wire and solid modelling files.
- CAM post editor file creation, organization, and management.
- Create and upload operator ready G&M code program solutions for safe CNC Turning and Machining Center production operations.
- Develop advanced manufacturing programs for high-speed CNC Turning and Machining Center applications.
- Create programs for parts with geometry or tolerances that exceed the capabilities of manual inspection equipment.
- Choose proper tooling, feeds and speeds, tool holders, and probes required for various materials and part geometry.
- Create CNC tool pathing to ensure safe clearance movements around work pieces with non-interference proofing.
- Demonstrate understanding of when to utilize high efficiency practices and advanced tool paths.
- Perform in process inspection using manual inspection equipment.
- Understand inspection intent.
- Create work instructions for program set ups and machine use.
- Operate machinery as requested by management.
- Interface with supervisor and/or area lead regarding troubleshooting support, edits, and optimization.
- Create and maintain a master tool list
- Work with various tooling venders to reduce tooling spend without negatively impacting quality, efficiency, or morale.
- Manage tooling to ensure no stockouts
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities.
- The Manufacturing CNC Programmer may perform other special projects or duties as required to support business needs.
