Summary
Client, a leader in vehicle performance parts and manufacturing is seeking a Lead CNC Programmer/Operator to run the CNC shop. PTG produces aerospace quality parts in the automotive motorsport segment and utilizes CNC machined parts throughout its catalog of parts. From Supercharger and Turbocharger parts, to fuel pumps and fittings, the team at PTG pushes the envelope in both engineering and manufacturing techniques.
JOB SUMMARY:
A well-rounded CNC Programmer/ Class A Machinist to provide accurate and efficient programs in a timely manner. Machines include 4-axis, Lathes, HMCs and VMCs. A willingness to share knowledge and train others. The Programmer is responsible for working closely with manufacturing, engineering and quality personnel to resolve any programming/manufacturing issues that may arise Candidate must be capable of creating efficient programs and be willing to set up and prove out process at the machines in order to get first piece approval. Must be able to change priorities in a fast paced, dynamic shop atmosphere. Said candidate must work toward continuous improvement in process, cycle time reduction, automation to increase quality and production flow. Success driven self-motivated individual to join our small team of programmers with focus on teaching and implementing new and latest software solutions in an effort to optimize machining cycle time and implementing process standardization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write programs and special macros as needed for CNC machines and Probing cycles.
Edit Post Processors for effective programs to minimize operator error • Provide CNC setup instruction sheets for each program.
Maintain program revisions and support documentation for internal and customer specified changes.
Work closely with CNC set up machinists.
CMM Programming and Strong Machine Probing Knowledge
Provide estimated CNC cycle times for the quoting and estimating group.
Build and design tooling/ jaws and fixture as needed.
Work on special projects as assigned by management.
Work to verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
Responsible for cleanliness of his/her own work area and the general housekeeping of the Company. • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 5 to 8 years with MasterCam, Solidworks, CamWorks experience.
Strong knowledge of CNC machining. Lathe, 4 axis, HMC, VMC with focus on HAAS VF's and ST's, Horizontal
Minimum 10-year experience in machine shop environment.
Efficient in reading prints and working with solid models (Catia and Solid work).
Computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Project.
Good reading and writing skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with fellow employees.
