Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience and Training
Completion of an accredited two-year technical college program and/or state indentured apprenticeship in a related field of study or equal accrued experience and training. Experience with standard & molds with actions. Should have background in plastic injection moldmaking. Two-shot experience is helpful.
Good understanding and ability to perform tasks and create documents using Microsoft Word,
Excel PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook. Knowledge of at least one of the following: Pro-E, Solidworks, UniGraphics, and applicable CAM package/s.

Responsibilities:
Essential Tasks/Duties and Responsibilities
Modeling part geometry changes for moldability
Integrating automation techniques using the latest equipment & technology
Team collaboration for problem solving and new innovations.
Read engineering drawings and use necessary measuring devices.
Perform design calculations and prepare equipment or material specifications.
Coordinates and demonstrates the training of new department members
Evaluates systems based on quantitative results and makes suggestions for the improvement of these systems
Work independently from supervisor and team with minimal guidance
Review product design for compliance with engineering principals, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specifications
Model / extract electrodes form existing 3D mold-design
Generate toolpath programs for electrode cutting 3-Axis and 5-Axis
Generate toolpath programs for mold components 3-Axis and 5-Axis
Verify programs before being sent to shop floor
Make recommendations to mold designers to facilitate ease of manufacturing
Work closely with toolmakers and suggest appropriate machining processes
Research and stay up to date with software and cutter capabilities
Follow up with machinists to verify how programs run
May be required to run programs on the CNC machines
Work in an organized efficient manner
Generate toolpaths for moldbase hole work
