Summary

About the Role

The CNC Programmer will create and run CNC programs to produce high-quality steel tools for compression molding. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC machinery, programming languages, and manufacturing processes.


Responsibilities


  • Develop and write CNC programs for various machining operations, mainly turning using Doosan/FANUC controls and HAAS controls
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
  • Select appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feeds for each operation.
  • Conduct test runs and adjust programs as necessary to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other team members to troubleshoot and resolve programming issues.
  • Maintain and update CNC program libraries and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs. This may include contributing to creating and updating SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), work instructions, or other company documentation.

Education Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree or technical certification in CNC programming or a related field preferred.


Required Skills

  • 5 years of experience as a CNC Programmer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience working with tight tolerances in steel.
  • Ability to perform CNC setups as well as program execution.
  • Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code, M-code) and CAD/CAM software (e.g., MasterCAM, SolidCAM).
  • Strong understanding of machining processes, materials, and tooling.
  • Strong understanding of tooling, toolpath strategy, and work holding in turning work.
  • Strong GDT knowledge and use of metrology.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Must be able to read and write in English
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


Pay range and compensation package

$32-$37/hr DOE
