Job Description
The CNC Mill Machinist will be responsible for setup, operation, and quality control of parts manufactured on Doosan Puma DNM 5700 CNC mills. This is a hands-on position requiring a deep understanding of machining practices, tooling, work holding, and Fanuc controls.

CNC Mill Machinist - 1st Shift
What You Will Be Doing
- Identify different types and sizes of steel needed for the job (primarily HRS and CRS).
- Setup and operate CNC milling machines using Fanuc controls.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and work instructions
- Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
- Perform first article inspections and in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision tools.
- Monitor tool wear and replace tooling as needed
- Load programs and make necessary offset adjustments or minor edits at the control
- Conduct in-process inspections and make necessary adjustments
- Edit G-code programs as needed to improve efficiency or achieve tight tolerances
- Maintain accurate documentation of job travelers, inspections, and quality checks.
- Collaborate with programmers and supervisors to troubleshoot machining issues
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Basic troubleshoot on designated equipment to solve unexpected machine issues performing the job.
- Ability to read and understand a tape measure, 12-inch scale, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices (Imperial and Metric).
- Maintain clean and organized work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift, and work mandatory overtime when necessary.
What You Will Bring Along
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of CNC milling experience, including setup and operation. / CNC equipment.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven experience working with Doosan Puma machines and Fanuc controls
- Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and cutting conditions.
- Ability to hold tolerances down to ±0.0005".
- Computer Skills: Windows Operating System
- Certifications & Licenses: Technical school certificate preferred
- Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Must be able to convert fractions to decimals, must be familiar with the metric system and metric to imperial conversions Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Comfortable working with tight deadlines and multiple setups daily.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with multi-axis or live tooling a plus.
- Familiarity with Fanuc 0i controls
- Experience with fixture design and part nesting
