Ryerson has an opportunity for a CNC Machinist to join our team in Lancaster, NY. As a CNC Machinist you are responsible for set up and operation of vertical CNC machines. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Load and unloading parts, including cleaning and verifying for accuracy Write programs at the controller for simple parts Read & interpret engineering drawings Align & secure material on machining center Ability to select the proper tooling required for a specific job Detect worn tooling and make adjustments to ensure tolerances are met All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice Position Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED required Min. 1-3 years work experience operating CNC vertical machining centers Working knowledge of Mazak Machining Centers is preferred Working knowledge of G and M codes as related to vertical machining centers Working knowledge of CAD software related to CNC machining. Advanced math skills and the ability to calculate feeds and speeds required. Knowledge of and ability to use tape measure, micrometer, bore gauges and calipers a must Forklift and/or overhead crane experience Salary: $25.73 hourly (reflects the entire pay rate). A starting salary higher than $25.73 (minimum pay rate) hourly is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale Experience Required: 1 - 3 Years Education Required: High School Diploma
