Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Industry: Custom Machinery for Heating Product Manufacturing
A leading manufacturer of custom machinery in
Elk Grove Village, IL is seeking a
skilled CNC Machinist to join their team on a 6 month
contract-to-hire basis! This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, collaborative environment and is passionate about precision machining.
About the Company:
This organization designs and builds custom equipment for manufacturers in the heating products industry. Their systems support a wide range of metal forming and heating applications, including coil cutting, filling, feeding, annealing, cropping, trim, bending, and more. Now part of a larger European-owned group, they continue to expand their footprint in the U.S. market.
Position Overview:
This is a
hands-on CNC Machinist role with responsibilities across both CNC and manual machining. You’ll work with programs created by the engineering team, perform setups, and make fine-tuned edits directly at the machine using G & M Codes. Occasionally, you’ll be required to jump on a
manual Bridgeport mill when it’s more efficient to produce a part by hand.
This position is ideal for a
self-starter who takes pride in quality and autonomy in their work.
What You’ll Do:
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Make minor program edits (G & M Code) as needed at the machine
- Operate manual mills (Bridgeport or equivalent) to fabricate parts
- Inspect parts using standard measuring tools to ensure accuracy
- Work closely with engineering and floor personnel to meet production goals
Must-Have Qualifications:
- CNC milling experience (no lathe-only candidates)
- Experience with manual milling—capable of producing parts without CNC assistance
- Proficient in CNC setup and able to work independently
- Strong verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience operating Bridgeport manual mills
- Ability to make minor edits to CNC programs (not full programming)
- Familiarity with conversational programming techniques
