We are seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in operating CNC lathes, as well as experience with programming and troubleshooting. The successful candidate will be able to read blueprints, set up and operate machines, and perform quality checks on the finished product. Responsibilities:
Working with blueprints, operation sheets, travelers or other specifications, set-ups and completes the machining operations to produce a quality part.
Proficient in operation of CNC lathes (Okuma’s).
Perform complex set-ups of own work or for others.
Make all required adjustments to the machinery.
Being able to run multiple machines when required.
Obtain tooling, gages, inserts and all other equipment needed to complete the set-up and brings up the program. Edits the program as necessary.
Assist other Operators or Set-up/Operators with set-up or production problems and helps to train other set-up/operators.
Ensure that all manufactured parts are in full compliance to quality standards.
Understands how to use measurement tools such as snap gage, digital calipers, micrometers, optical comparator and other measuring instruments.
Perform visual inspections (part relationship to operation sheet/blueprint configuration) on all parts produced and performs actual dimensional verification using measuring instruments as per the guidelines established by the department or the Quality Assurance Department.
Replace all worn or damaged tooling as necessary.
Verify and record actual part count, both prior to and upon completion of all work
Perform all routine maintenance on the equipment and maintains all fluid levels.
Keep the equipment and work area clean and organized.
Enters all work performed into the database and documents all scrap.
Notifies leadperson or supervisor of any parts shortages or machining problems/difficulties.
Packs and washes/preserves parts as needed.
Performs other machining and assembly operations as needed.
Performs other related duties as required.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent. Technical school training a plus.
3 years of set-up experience minimum required
Experience with aerospace products and/or other close tolerance parts is a plus
Must be familiar with Fanuc and/or Okuma Controls
Must be able to set and change tools
Must be able to use standard gauges and inspection techniques
Strong mechanical aptitude
Good working knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, basic math and measuring instruments
Good understanding of machining practices
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods of time
Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $30.00 per hour
