Pay Range: $20.00/hr - $30.00/hr (paid weekly)
We have great work hours!!
First shift: Monday - Friday from 7:30am to 4:00pm (OT available)
Second shift: Monday - Friday from 3:30pm to 12:00am (OT available)
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Lathe Setup: Set up and prepare CNC lathe machines for production runs, including loading materials, securing workpieces, and selecting appropriate tooling.
Programming: Create, modify, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM software to produce aerospace components in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications.
Machining: Operate CNC lathes to machine aerospace parts with precision and accuracy, monitoring the process to ensure quality and compliance with industry standards.
Quality Control: Conduct in-process and final inspections of machined parts using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, and CMM equipment. Verifying the quality and conformance of parts to specifications.
Tooling and Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot CNC lathe tools and equipment, performing routine maintenance and tool changes as necessary.
Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment and following all safety procedures.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of machine setups, tool changes, and production data. Document any deviations or issues encountered during the machining process.
Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cycle time reduction, and cost savings. Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to implement improvements.
Communication: Relay project timelines and objectives clearly to top management. Relay deviances to top management immediately.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or certification in CNC machining is highly desirable.
Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Machinist, including the ability to program CNC lathes.
Proficiency in CNC programming using G-code and Cam software.
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
Experience with measurement tools and equipment for quality inspection.
Detail oriented with a commitment to precision and quality.
Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Passion for machining highly complex aerospace components using state of the art equipment
Knowledge and experience to make programming/machining decisions with minimal supervision
Willingness to participate in part production from initial programming to completion
Desire to work closely with top management to improve operating environment and machining operations
Fluent in G code, GD&T, multi-axis programming/machining, complex inspection methods, fixturing, familiarity with material behavior
Willingness to participate in manufacturability reviews
Preferred Experience:
Mori Seiki Turning 10-20” Diameter thin-walled aluminum and steel rings
DMG/Mori multi-axis machining center experience
Experience with: Mastercam, Solidworks, Calypso, CMM software
Experience with: Fanuc, Mori Seiki (MAPPS) controls
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
