Job Title: CNC Boring Mill Programmer/Operator Revision date: 08-08-2023 Reports directly to: Shop Supervisor Employment type: Full time permanent, 40 hours weekly, OT as required Location: Sarnia, On Job Purpose: We are hiring an experienced CNC Programmer and Operator to join our team at Central Machine & Marine in Sarnia, On. This position will work with a dedicated team to support our client base of sectors such as nuclear, automation, petrochemical, mining, OEM, etc. Our shop is busy – and with our rigorous Quality programs, we continue to grow! Major Responsibilities Read technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprints. Develop CNC programs for production runs. Modify existing programs for different machines. Use computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordingly. Perform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specifications. Adjust machine cutting paths or settings to optimize production while maintaining quality. Consider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordingly. Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise. Perform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and trouble shooting. Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines. Maintain tooling database. Skills Required 3-5 years experience programming and operating a CNC lathe, Proficient with Mastercam and SolidWorks. Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting is required. Must have strong attention to detail. Familiarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprints. Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that arise. Ability to work independently and closely follow directions is essential. Should have a positive attitude, works well in a team setting. Available to work weekends and overtime, as required. Capable of standing for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds for short periods of time. Salary Range: Completive wage and Benefits package. Schedule 8-hour shift/10 hour shift. Monday to Friday Overtime as required.
