Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of exams within a small or remote exams office by handling confidential materials in line with compliance standards, managing the engagement and performance of Venue Supervisors, coordinating risk or issue resolution including customer communication, and serving as the main point of contact for Venue Supervisors on test days to ensure smooth and compliant operations; the role also requires availability to work on weekends as part of contracted hours.

Role Accountabilities

This role is responsible for managing the secure handling of confidential exam materials and ensuring full compliance with British Council and exam board standards, while coordinating all logistical aspects of test day delivery, including materials preparation, venue operations, and stakeholder engagement. It involves handling customer enquiries, access arrangements, and complaints, supporting continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring compliance with risk management and corporate policies. The role also includes data analysis and reporting to support decision-making, managing supplier relationships such as couriers, and supervising staff or third parties to ensure timely, efficient, and high-quality service delivery.

Role Specific Skills, Knowledge And Experience

The ideal candidate should have experience in an operations role involving the management of confidential materials and working to strict deadlines. They should be accustomed to operating within a regulated environment, with the ability to identify and implement service improvements, particularly in customer experience. Additionally, they must be skilled in building relationships with external stakeholders, such as exam boards. Preferred qualifications include experience in delivering computer-based exams, managing financial processes such as supplier payments, and leading a team.

Further Information

Language: Strong English proficiency is crucial for this role, requiring fluency in both written and spoken communication to effectively navigate British Council systems and international operations.

Education: Candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline or possess an equivalent relevant qualification.
