SUMMARY: The CMM Programmer will perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection of parts daily while also writing and verifying CMM programs for production. Commitment to and support of the company core values is key to success in this position. This role involves both hands-on inspection and programming responsibilities to ensure high-quality products.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- CMM Programming:
- Write CMM programs offline and follow through to set-up and program verification for production.
- Write CMM programs online to inspect finished products and process inspection.
- Collaborate with other programmers and operators to achieve results.
- Prove out data for nonconforming items.
- Ensure there are no issues with fixturing and work with engineering groups to produce the best fixturing.
- Follow the program through the first set-up and run to ensure accuracy.
- Collaboration:
- Work with engineering to develop the best fixturing solutions.
- Be actively involved in troubleshooting discrepancies and validating discrepancies as needed.

- Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- CMM programming and operating experience (Zeiss CMM, Calypso software).
- Experience with various inspection tools (microscope, height gauges, micrometers, calipers).
- Basic working knowledge of SolidWorks (preferred).
- Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and other common industry standards.
- Basic computer skills (file creation, saving, printing) and proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Knowledge of Epicor ERP 10 or similar Management/Manufacturing Information System (preferred).
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of inspection experience or equivalent, with a focus on CMM programming.
- Minimum two years of experience with Calypso Software and Zeiss CMM; five years preferred.
- Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Calypso Training Certificate (Basic & Advanced).
- SolidWorks basic working knowledge.
- Other:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent green card holder.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to speak and understand basic safety and manufacturing instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers. Ability to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Authorization to work in the United States. Eligible for any required U.S. Government export control authorizations.
