Major Duties And Responsibilities

The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer I supports Tosoh SMD, Inc. (TSMD) Production, Engineering, and R&D teams with inspection programs for production parts and maintains CMM calibrations. The CMM Programmer I works with Manufacturing, Engineering and R&D to write and prove out programs for standard product inspection.

Reporting Relationships

The CMM Programmer I reports to the Manufacturing Applications Manager.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Write and prove out CMM programs per established procedures.
• Regularly performs calibration of CMM’s used in manufacturing while adhering to established schedules and deadlines.
• Support manufacturing personnel with CMM related issues.
• Collaborate with Quality to establish QDA inspection plans
• Inspect production drawings in collaboration with Computer Aided Design (CAD) Designer
• Contributes to culture through alignment with company values and code of conduct. Maintains a positive attitude, displays enthusiasm for assigned tasks, and communicates effectively and professionally with team members.
• Support the qualification of new products and processes.
  
  

Education

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
  
  

Skills And Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of CMMs
• Proficient interpretation of drawings including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
• Basic understanding of CMM setups and measurement methods preferred
• Conceptual knowledge of PC-DMIS and MCOSMOS CMM programming software preferred
• Knowledge and understanding of CNC machining and manufacturing fundamentals.
• Computer literacy required.
• Knowledge of quality systems and procedures preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and work independently.
• Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively.
  
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) as defined by process.
