The CMM Programmer is responsible for the development of inspection programs, the operation of CMM equipment to perform inspections and the interpretation and understanding of GD&T requirements as defined by our customers to establish conformance of product.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing accurate inspection programs for CMM to inspect parts, using PC DMIS/Polyworks software.
  • Must be able to setup, program, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), both traditional in-place and articulated-arm devices.
  • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to blue prints, model-based definition (MBD) files, and specifications, using measuring instruments such as (but not limited to) height gauges, calipers, sine plate, micrometers, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), or Faro/Romer arm.
  • Strong in interpreting drawings, specifications and expertise in GD&T
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and their applications.
  • Write test and inspection reports describing results and document discrepant parts on nonconformance tags.
  • Solves problems and troubleshoots by using sound judgment and collaborating with other departments.
  • Train new and existing CMM inspectors in PC DMIS/Polyworks software and CMM inspection techniques.
  • Other essential duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 2 CMM certification from Hexagon Meteorology, or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience programming/running CMM's using PC DMIS/Polyworks
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience in mechanical inspection techniques
  • Must have GD&T certification, or equivalent
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions, procedures, and aerospace specifications, and drawings.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, as constant communication with fellow employees within the organization, and relating technical data and requirements to external customers is required.
  • Must be able to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and/or diagram form.
  • Must possess the ability to apply written requirements to a physical part to determine if the part meets the requirements.
  • Must be organized and pay keen attention to details in the application of technical date, drawings and specifications, and their application to a physical part.
  • Must have English reading and verbal communication skills sufficient to read, understand and communicate the company operating procedures and policies.
  • Must be able to lift, push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to demonstrate math proficiency equal to or greater than required for the position applied.
  • Must be available to work the shift specified by the position and be flexible to potential overtime on weekends/ holidays.
  • Acceptable Vision Test results
