Summary

The Financial Controller will be responsible for controlling and monitoring financial and accounting operations for Hotels, ensuring compliance with the Group’s policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, international financial and accounting reporting standards.


Key Accountabilities:


  • Prepare and recommend the Finance section budget by preparing analysis and data related to specific elements as directed.
  • Monitor the financial performance of the Finance section against budgets so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified and rectified promptly.
  • Ensure smooth functioning of reconciliation and control for hotel activities related to specific departments.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly reporting packages and submission to business unit management with a view to ensure that they are fully enabled to make accurate decisions.
  • Supervise the day-to-day operations of the Finance section to ensure that work processes are implemented as designed and comply with established policies, processes and procedures.
  • Ensure control of general ledger accounts for Hotels activities so that all financial transactions are recorded in adherence to agreed standards and the Group’s policies and procedures.
  • Control and ensure maintenance of the for Hotels general ledger including control of direct inputs and data transfers from, purchase ledger, sales ledger, etc.
  • Supervise the preparation of timely and accurate reports to meet company and department requirements, policies and standards.


Qualification / Capabilities:


Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance Or Accounting .


Experience:

  • 10 years of experience in accounting, with a minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in a similar position of Financial Controller.


Skills/Attributes:

  • Should have a high command of MS applications like Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Knowledge of back office or accounting systems like Oracle.
  • Should possess strong financial knowledge.
  • Analytical skills and very well organized.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
