Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Java / Golang Cloud-Native Open Source developer to join our expanding engineering team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for building and maintaining cloud-native applications, contributing to open-source projects, and shaping the future evolution of how these applications can support Open Radio Access Network (ORAN) and Ericsson’s Network management and Radio Access Network product suite. This is an exciting opportunity for someone enthusiastic about creating scalable, resilient, and efficient systems in the cloud-native ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain cloud-native applications using Java, Golang and also development C.
  • Contribute to diverse range of open source projects.
  • Collaborating with developers in the open source community and building a reputation in this space. Offering constructive code reviews and accepting suggestions with professionalism. Knowing how decisions are made in open source, how leadership is structured, and where to contribute effectively.
  • Work with modern cloud technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, and Azure to ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience.
  • Build and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices architectures in the cloud.
  • Implement DevOps practices to automate deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions in an agile development environment.
  • Actively participate in code reviews, pair programming, and mentoring team members.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in Java and Golang development, with a strong understanding of software engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
  • Experience in working with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
  • Passion for open-source development and a track record of contributions to open-source projects is a plus.
  • Ability to get up to speed quickly and independently on new projects. Adapting quickly to new stacks, reading source code, and using community resources.
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud-native frameworks such as Spring Boot, Go-kit, or similar.
  • Familiarity with CNCF eco system (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, Strimzi, Istio, Kaffka, Argo, Flux ).
  • Contributions to the open-source community, including GitHub repositories or public forums.
