About the position

CNTXT is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Google Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. You will play a key role in ensuring the scalability, reliability, security, and performance of our cloud environment. The ideal candidate has a strong background in cloud computing, extensive hands-on experience with GCP, and a passion for solving complex infrastructure challenges.

Principal Duties

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on GCP.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform.
• Automate the deployment, configuration, and management of GCP resources.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
• Implement and maintain networking solutions in GCP, including VPCs, subnets, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Ensure the security of our cloud environment by implementing best practices for IAM, encryption, and security monitoring.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with development teams to support the deployment and scaling of applications on GCP.
• Evaluate new GCP services and technologies and make recommendations for adoption.
• Document infrastructure designs, configurations, and procedures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Must be able to design and implement GCP Landing zone using Google Cloud Fabric fast framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering with a focus on Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong understanding of GCP services, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, and IAM.
• Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) with Terraform.
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
• Solid understanding of networking principles and protocols.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes and GKE).
• Knowledge of security best practices for cloud environments.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Google Professional Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional DevOps Engineer, Professional Security Engineer and Professional Network Engineer ).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Cloud Monitoring, Stackdriver).
• Experience with database technologies on GCP (e.g., Cloud SQL, Cloud Spanner).
• Scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash).
