Description
The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer drives digital transformation at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren s.c. The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer provides technical leadership to the design, development, testing, and implementation of cloud solutions. They will have the knowledge to manage and document the current systems, identify gaps, and resolve in the cloud. The candidate will have a firm grasp of emerging technologies, platforms, and applications and an ability to customize them to become more secure and efficient. They will create documentation for administrative processes that will detail the care and feeding of the infrastructure.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Design and maintain operating system backup solutions for system recovery and disaster recovery.
- Document, diagram, and take other steps as necessary to ensure implementations follow best practices and go according to plan.
- Train Administrators and service desk personnel sufficiently to support products.
- Participate and assist in setting the long-term direction, roadmaps, and standards for technical solutions, ensuring they align to the overall enterprise architecture.
- Recommend cloud-based solutions that provide benefit to employees, reduce complexity, improve security, and reduce failures.
- Identify single points of failure and areas that lack resiliency.
- Participate in technology evaluation and reengineering teams to support strategy-definition and continuous process improvement activities.
- Lead projects and see them through to completion.
- Demonstrate progress and provide updates on workload and projects to management.
- Assist others with troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Maintain an understanding of new and current technologies.
- Create Lifecycle plans for the products for which they are responsible.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain automation of cloud enablement tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: 5 – 10 years in roles as an on-prem engineer, network engineer, or on a DevOps team as a cloud engineer.

- Understanding that a fundamental knowledge of cloud infrastructure is based on a combination of skills and understanding of operating systems, security, networking, backup and restores, and disaster recovery testing.
- Previous experience in a lift and shift migration.
- Current certifications in Cloud, Cyber Security or networking technologies
- Deep knowledge in Public vs. Private vs. Hybrid Solution Development
- Cloud migration methodologies and processes, including tools used
- Executive presentation experience with business acumen
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to design and plan the implementation of solutions
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Ability to script in one or more languages, ideally PowerShell, Python, or Bash
- Prior experience with enabling Single Sign On (SSO)
- Experience with MFA, OTP, or 2SV.
