Job Title: Cloud Database Engineer - W2 Only - Can provide sponsorship

Duration: Long Term

Location: Merrimack, NH - Hybrid - Local Preferred

This person is likely to come from a DBA background who has gotten into cloud space and has really strong AWS or Azure experience.

• They'll need a candidate with strong Oracle, MySQL OR PostgreSQL DB experience, either is fine.
• Team uses mostly Oracle. They'll also need to be really strong in the Cloud and have experience migrating and working in that space.
• Team is mostly in AWS. While this is in CAPE, the Virtualization squad provides services to FI, WI, and PI, they leverage Delphix and Oracle. Delphix can be taught.
• Will be part of on-call rotation once up to speed, but not that often.
• They will be configuring, maintaining, and upgrading Delphix every 60 days.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

• At least 8 years of experience working in a large database hybrid environment that includes both on-prem and public cloud resources
• Proven expertise and hands on-experience with deploying and managing relational databases such as Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, or Sybase
• Expertise and experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools such as GitHub, Artifactory and Jenkins.
• Think innovatively and have the ability to automate various administrative tasks using the Python, Groovy, Jenkins, Java , and/or shell scripting skills.
• Ability to evaluate and propose best-of-breed tools and engineering best-practices.
• Experience with configuring alerts and monitors to create a highly available platform
• Experience with on-call support, resolving incidents and release management practices.
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Good to have a sound knowledge on database performance tuning, backup and recovery strategy, AWS/Azure (EC2/VM provisioning, Networking, peering, private link, block and object storage concepts, rehydration), Hardware/Storage/Network capacity management with cost reduction and performance tuning as end goal. IAC & CICD concepts are a plus.

Bonus Skills

• Hands-on experience in Delphix /Oracle ZFS database virtualization is a plus.
• Working experience in masking of ‘PII’ data is a plus.
• Certification in public cloud (AWS or Azure)
• Familiarity with distributed databases like Yugabyte or Cockroach
