What You Will Do
The Cloud Data Architect designs and implements an organization's cloud data strategy, ensuring data accuracy, accessibility, and security to support strategic decision-making. They translate business needs into technical solutions, often collaborating with various stakeholders to optimize data utilization and ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
Responsibilities of this role are as follows, to include but not limited to:
- Develop and implement cloud data strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring data quality and security.
- Design and manage cloud data infrastructure, including data platforms, storage, and networking, ensuring scalability and performance.
- Design and implement data platform architecture, including data lakes, warehouses, and other data management solutions.
- Plan and execute data migrations from on-premises to cloud environments, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
- Implement and maintain data security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and security standards.
- Collaborate with other technology and business teams to establish data solutions for analysis, modeling, and design.
- Stay updated on the latest cloud data technologies, trends, and industry developments to ensure optimal solutions.
- Leads the Cloud Data Architects in the deployment of the overall cloud data architecture. Areas of focus include organizational structure, identity and access management, networking, security and ingestion.
- Develops standards, frameworks, patterns, and processes to benefit existing stakeholders.
- Communicates with key stakeholders, industry experts, and technical peers to understand technology and business requirements, industry trends and the boarder data architecture landscape.
- Develops and communicates the technical data architecture direction and roadmap for cloud data capabilities.
- Maintains a strong understanding of the current cloud data platform and proactively leads the analysis of the technology environment to detect deficiencies, gaps, and opportunities. Leads teams to prioritize, initiate and implement technology efforts aimed at addressing these opportunities.
- Translates business and technical requirements into a data architectural blueprint to achieve business objectives
- Provides guidance as it relates to cloud automation and (Continuous Integration/Continuous Improvement) CI/CD capabilities
- Ensures compliance of solutions to architectural standards
- Collaborates with security architecture and information security to ensure integrity of solutions and meet enterprise standards and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
What You Will Need
- Ability to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD Public Trust
- Bachelor’s degree
- TEN (10) or more years of experience supporting Data Cloud Strategies/Architecture.
- Oracle OCI Certification
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
What Would Be Nice To Have
- Existing DHS Suitability.
- Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Architect Certification or OCI Implementation Specialist Certification,
- Experience supporting federal government customers and/or prior experience within the federal government.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Consultants need to effectively communicate technical solutions to non-technical audiences, build strong client relationships, and collaborate with diverse teams.
- Adaptability and Learning - The IT landscape is constantly evolving, so consultants should be eager to learn new technologies and adapt to changing client needs.
- Customer-Centric and be able to address client needs is crucial.
- Be able to tailor solutions to meet specific business goals.
- Business and Technical Acumen - A successful consultant can bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions.
- Demonstrated experience leading technology implementations/transformations, specifically with large-scale technology transformation programs (i.e., strategy through execution) with an emphasis in operations.
- Demonstrating IT strategy skills by being able to develop and document business visions, technology strategies, and project roadmaps.
- Experience supporting emergency management security sector customers.
