Senior Cloud Solution Architect – Google Cloud Enablement

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Cloud Solution Architect to lead the evaluation, optimization, and enablement of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) adoption across the technology organization. This role is responsible for analyzing existing Azure and on-premise workloads, identifying migration opportunities to GCP, and ensuring technology teams are equipped to use Google Cloud effectively and securely in a regulated enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Cloud Landscape Review & Migration Planning

• Conduct detailed analysis of the current on-prem and Azure cloud workloads to assess suitability for GCP migration.
• Deliver actionable migration recommendations that include performance benchmarks, financial cost-benefit analysis, and regulatory implications.
• Collaborate with business units and application owners to define optimal migration plans based on workload characteristics and organizational priorities.

2. Governance, Architecture Standards & Enablement

• Define, publish, and maintain GCP architectural guidelines and best practices tailored for the company's needs.
• Coach internal teams on efficient and effective GCP usage, including identity management, network design, data security, and cost optimization.
• Ensure consistent application of cloud architecture patterns that support high availability, scalability, compliance, and observability.

3. Capability Assessment & Uplift Program

• Evaluate current cloud skill levels across infrastructure, DevOps, and application development teams.
• Develop and lead a training roadmap that includes foundational learning, hands-on labs, certifications (e.g., Google Cloud Certified), and brown-bag sessions.
• Act as an internal evangelist for Google Cloud adoption by fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud architecture, with significant exposure to Google Cloud and Azure.
• Deep expertise in cloud workload migration, performance tuning, and cost modeling.
• Familiarity with cloud governance in regulated industries (e.g., GxP, data privacy, cybersecurity).
• Strong working knowledge of Terraform, Kubernetes (GKE), CI/CD pipelines, IAM, VPC design, and monitoring stacks (e.g., Cloud Operations Suite).
• Experience with cross-functional collaboration and coaching of multi-disciplinary technical teams.

Preferred Certifications

• Google Cloud Certified – Professional Cloud Architect (strongly preferred)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• TOGAF or other enterprise architecture frameworks (a plus)
