Overview:
Hiring a Remote Clinical ED Coder to join a growing health system. A qualified candidate will come from a clinical background and have experience as an coder in the emergency department and/or critical care space.
KPIs: 4 charts per hour.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, with flexibility on start time.
Duties Include:
- Performs assigned job focus (audit, coding, billing and edit questions) in a consistent manner to ensures compliance with CMS and other regulatory compliance guidelines.
- Focus on coding and documentation accuracy, researching the federal and state guidelines to answer coding questions.
- Benchmarking data and summarizing conclusions.
- Identifying trends and reporting those or facilitating to appropriate leader.
- Educates and trains staff related to findings.
- Performs this function within defined time limits.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting for internal and external customers.
Qualifications:
1. Strong Powerpoint & Excel Skills (Required)
2. RN or LPN with CPC /COC/CCS/RHIT/RHIA (Required)
3. HS diploma or GED
4. Minimum of 3 years of E/M coding in ED or Critical Care (Required)
5. EPIC & 3M (Required)
6. Previous remote experience is a plus!
