Łukasiewicz – PORT Polish Center for Technology Development is a Research Institute within the Łukasiewicz Research Network. Job Overview

The Clinical Data Chief Specialist play a key role in building and maintaining strategic partnerships with healthcare providers to drive P4Health Clinical&Biobanking Platform’s (P1) growth and operational success. This position focuses on increasing biosample collection by fostering collaborations with clinical hospitals. The Clinical Data Chief Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of clinical and biobanking processes with the highest quality standards. This includes overseeing work of the Biobanking Data Manager responsible for data entry, quality control, and database maintenance to facilitate efficient sample tracking and retrieval. Close collaboration with Clinical Awareness Manager to effectively reach and engage diverse patient groups will be necessary. Additionally, the Chief Specialist will lead the development and implementation of Clinical Liaison Expansion Plan (D4.3), a strategic roadmap designed to enhance cooperation with healthcare providers. It outlines initiatives and actions to improve communication and coordination between P4Health Centre of Excellence and clinics, hospitals, or other medical facilities. It will be developed with support of Kings College Team of specialists.

The Clinical Data Chief Specialist will be responsible for contributing to data reporting for scientific and collaborative purposes, as well as for preparing project deliverable reports for the funding body. Additionaly, the coordinator will serve as a primary liaison between biobank operations and hospitals.

Key Deliverables for the Role: Clinical Data Chief Specialist

Strategic Partnership Development

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with clinical hospitals and healthcare providers to increase biosample collection.
  • Acting as the primary liaison between P1 and healthcare institutions, ensuring clear and consistent communication.

Clinical Liaison Expansion Plan Implementation

  • Developing and executing the Clinical Liaison Expansion Plan in collaboration with KCL’s specialists.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve workflows and collaboration between P1 and medical facilities.
  • Enhancing communication channels to support seamless coordination with healthcare providers.

Data Management Excellence

  • Overseeing the work of the Biobanking Data Manager, ensuring data entry, quality control, and database maintenance are performed to the highest standards.
  • Overseeing and co-develop clinical data DB system enabling storage, accurate tracking, and efficient retrieval of biodata.
  • Maintaining compliance with ethical guidelines, legal regulations, and quality standards in data management.

Operational Coordination

  • Collaborating with researchers, biobank staff, IT, and legal teams to facilitate data accessibility for scientific and analytical purposes.
  • Collaborating with the designated KCL Clinical Liaison representative to prepare joint documents outlining strategies for building relationships between P1 and clinicians at various career stages, aimed at enhancing their understanding of and promotion of our biobanking initiatives.

Project Reporting And Deliverables

  • Preparing and submiting accurate project reports and deliverables for the funding body.
  • Contributing to scientific reporting and presentations based on biobanking data for collaborative and research purposes, preparing statistical overviews.

Compliance And Ethical Standards

  • Ensuring all biobank activities comply with local and international regulations, including GDPR and biobanking best practices.
  • Developing and enforcing SOPs (D2.1) related to the clinical data handling to ensure operational integrity.

Training And Support

  • Providing training and guidance to biobank staff, researchers, and collaborators on data handling.
  • Supporting the clinical collaborators in understanding principles of biobanking.
  • Delivering occasional lectures in the area of clinical liaison and clinical data management.

Impact Goals

  • Increasing biosample collection and improving the P1’s operational efficiency.
  • Enhancing the quality and accessibility of clinical data for scientific research.
  • Fostering strong and productive relationships with healthcare providers to support collaborative growth.

This role is critical in bridging P1’s operational goals with healthcare provider collaborations, ensuring sustainable growth and maximising research impact.

Key Targets

The Clinical Data Chief Specialist will directly contribute to achieving P4Health’s strategic objectives, driving a 500% (additional 1 500 samples) increase in biosample collection (MS3) and fostering collaborative relationships with clinical hospitals (>3). This role is critical to ensuring sustainable growth, operational excellence, and impactful research outcomes.

Requirements

  • Higher education in biomedical sciences, public health, biology, biotechnology, healthcare management or related.
  • Postgraduate studies or stages in the field of biobanking, clinical data management or research will be a plus.
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with clinical partners.
  • High organizational competences and combined multi-stage.
  • Proficiency in database management (experience with AMMS, REDCaps or conservatories preferred).
  • Ability to establish standard operating procedures (SOP) and project documentation.
  • Experience in preparing project projects, delivering and documentation for financing institutions.
  • Skills of statistical data analysis, data organization in the database environment, LIMS and quality control.
  • Experience in conducting or lecturing will be a plus.
  • Ability to work in the developing environment of biomedical research and translation.
  • Knowledge of English at C1 level.
