GBSI is seeking an Information Technology (IT) professional for the role of Client Event Planner in Huntsville, AL to work as part of a team on the design, development, and implementation of client events including in-person and virtual workshops, conferences, and meetings. The Client Event Planner will complete tasks related to meeting registration, site logistics, onsite support, and post-meeting follow-up. The ideal candidate will interact with project sponsors, focusing on customer service and an understanding of client expectations and needs.
Responsibilities
* Plans and organizes live and virtual meetings and events;
* Implements an event strategy to achieve financial, operational, and outreach objectives;
* Gathers meeting or event requirements and researches and recommends adequate channels or venues;
* Coordinates meeting logistics, including attendee registration, transportation, accommodations, meals, and technology;
* Conducts rehearsals and system checks of all equipment and connectivity;
* Maintains relationships with vendors for event support services;
* Coordinates budgets and ensures that events stay within cost projections;
* Contributes moderately complex aspects of a project in a team environment.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in Meeting and Event Management, Hospitality Management, Business, Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing is required;
* At least five (5) years of relevant experience is required;
* DoD-issued Secret Security Clearance is required at start;
* Must be highly organized and detail-oriented to manage multiple tasks, vendors, and timelines effectively;
* Creativity to develop unique event ideas and the ability to handle unexpected changes is vital in this role;
* Ability to adapt and remain calm is essential for this role.
