Position Overview As a Claims Director within the Arch Insurance Claims organization, you will be responsible for leading delivery of key analytical insights, building dashboards and automating reports to serve all layers of the Claims organization and working closely with other department Business Analyst's. This high visibility role has direct exposure to senior leaders across Arch Insurance. Your efforts will have a high impact on delivering performance metrics to the Claim organization to facilitate achieving our growth and profitability targets. This role reports to the Manager of Claims Analytics and is an individual contributor position. Primary Responsibilities, specific duties include but not limited to the below: * Directly manage a small team of Property Claim handling staff with varying levels of experience including Executive General Adjusters Senior Claims Specialists and Claims Specialists. * Provide claim authority and guidance as necessary on specific claims in the Middle Market claim portfolio. * Help establish and manage a calibrated claim quality review program for Property claims. * Maintain monthly reports of large loss activity for dialogue with key Underwriting stakeholders. * Prepare quarterly reports for key stakeholders in Claim, Actuary and Underwriting * Ensure adjusting staff are compliant with current regulatory requirements related to Property Claims * Develop and coordinate training for staff on relevant technical claim handling issues * Have viable and tested CAT plans in place; conduct annual review and update as necessary * Partner with Underwriting on product development initiatives for new programs or emerging issues * Collaborate with Claims management handling other lines of business to present a comprehensive and consistent view to key stakeholders. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or two or more insurance industry designations or four additional years of related experience beyond the minimum experience required above may be substituted in lieu of a degree. * Ten to fifteen (10-15) years of work experience at an insurance company and/or insurance claims loss adjustment service provider managing property claims process supporting Commercial accounts * Experience handling and managing multiple facets of Commercial Property claims, including Equipment Breakdown and Builders Risk. * Demonstrated ability to effectively lead Commercial Property Claim teams * Ability to lead strategic discussions and make effective presentations to senior/executive management * Ability to develop and manage individual and team priorities with minimal supervision and direction * Experience in Commercial Property policy product review and development * Commitment to continuous improvement through identification of opportunities in claim handling and underlying process improvement * Exceptional communication (written and verbal), influencing, evaluation, negotiating, listening, and interpersonal skills to effectively develop productive working relationships with internal/external peers and other professionals across organizational lines * Strong time management and organizational skills * Ability to work well in a team environment * Hands-on experience and strong aptitude with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word * Ability to analyze data utilizing tools such as Power BI or similar applications * Adjuster licensing in all applicable states * Willing and able to travel 10%; #LI-SW1 #LI-HYBRID For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible. $95,800 - $129,348/year * Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs.
