• Coding obstetric services, such as antepartum, delivery, and postpartum care
• Coding surgical procedures, such as hysterectomies, biopsies, and colpopexy
• Understanding evaluation and management (E/M) guidelines
• Reviewing clinical documentation to abstract and validate coding
