Position Description The Civil Engineering Senior Project Manager will have at least 10+ years’ experience with Land Development and/or Public Works projects. The Senior Project Manager will be a registered Professional Engineer in the state of CA. Duties include but not limited to, initial project research, plan production and management of plan production staff, plan processing and management of plan processing efforts, construction administration and project close out efforts.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead project teams, provide technical guidance and set clear objectives.
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure accountability.
Collaborate with consultants and design teams for smooth project execution.
Manage budgets, control costs, and handle contract changes.
Support business development by preparing proposals and qualifications.
Develop and manage staff, defining roles and responsibilities.
Prepare engineering reports and ensure regulatory compliance.
Conduct calculations, cost estimates, and develop work plans.
Coordinate client management and marketing efforts.
Prepare presentations, conduct site visits, and document findings.
Oversee hydrology, hydraulic, and flood analysis, maintaining client relationships.
Lead client calls, prepare forecasts, and cost estimates.
Propose construction alternatives and maintain regulatory knowledge.
Develop schedules, track progress, and meet deadlines.
Coordinate with departments, consultants, and agencies, and lead project meetings.
Develop and uphold engineering design standards and guidelines.
Minimum Work Experience
Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil3D.
Licensed PE in California with 10+ years of experience.
Skilled in producing accurate construction plans and reports.
Able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision in a team environment.
Experienced in client interaction and leading diverse staff.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for clear, concise engineering information.
Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and deadline management skills; capable of training staff and ensuring quality.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and ready to take on additional responsibilities.
Proactively communicate and build strong client relationships.
Troubleshoot and implement solutions effectively, with thorough documentation.
Preferred Education and Skills Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of pertinent experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
Drive to job sites, client meetings, or city offices for plan submittals.
Walk job site locations when needed.
Occasionally carry, lift, push, pull plans ranging from 1-20lbs.
Salary and Benefits Salary range $130,000/yr - $150,000/yr
