Job Description:
As a Civil Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing standard and special designs, plans, specifications, and specific job procedures for various projects. Your expertise will be crucial in completing LID, WQMP, Hydrology Reports, Cost Estimates, and NOI plans and applications. You will prepare design calculations, review plans, drawings, specifications, and reports, and design Site Plans at Conceptual, Preliminary, and Construction Document levels.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design Development: Create standard and special designs, plans, specifications, and specific job procedures for projects.
* Technical Reports: Complete LID, WQMP, Hydrology Reports, Cost Estimates, and NOI plans and applications.
* Quality Assurance: Prepare design calculations; check and review plans, drawings, specifications, and reports.
* Site Planning: Design Conceptual, Preliminary, and Construction Document level Site Plans.
* Coordination: Manage design coordination with outside consultants and perform QA/QC on all documents within the civil engineering team.
* Team Leadership: Plan, layout, and direct the work of a group of engineers on various problems.
* Project Management: Schedule, coordinate, and attend meetings with project teams, clients, and review agencies.
* Contract Administration: Administer major contracts with consultants/contractors for studies and design projects.
* Client Interaction: Coordinate with clients and oversee quality standards.
* Hands-On Direction: Provide hands-on direction and coordinate the work of a unit, identifying potential design and scheduling issues and implementing cost-effective solutions.
* Supervision: Manage and evaluate both direct reports and outside consultants, maintaining work schedules and providing direct supervision of the team.
* Compliance: Ensure compliance with green book, building codes, and regulations.
Essential Skills:
* Licensing: Civil P.E. License in California.
* Education: BS or MS in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
* Experience: Minimum of 10 years of related progressive experience in management and responsibilities, including experience in supervision and development of LID, WQMP, Hydrology Reports, Cost Estimates, and NOI plans.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and other relevant software applications.
* Site Design: Experience with site civil design, permitting, and hydrology modeling programs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
* Certifications: Certificates in Qualified Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Developer, Qualified SWPPP Practitioner.
* Coordination: Experience in multi-site project coordination with various disciplines.
* Specialized Experience: Experience in fuel at UST (underground storage tanks).
Work Environment:
Our collaborative work environment features small teams of 5-8 working on multiple projects, with the team size fluctuating between 15 to 22 employees, currently around 20 or less. Standard office hours are 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid schedule offered after acclimation (9-12 months). On-site presence is required from Monday to Wednesday, with remote work the rest of the week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $76.00/hr.
