Play a key part in producing the civil design and delivery of significant infrastructure, civil and related projects throughout the Wellington and surrounding regions. In this role, you will be working as part of a highly experienced team, where your input into the civil engineering design, calculations, and delivery solutions, will be an important and valued component for project delivery. Through this, you will have immense support and career development, learning from Beca’s technical experts across multiple disciplines on a vast range of projects including roads, ports, bridges, tunnels, airports, rail, site development and related infrastructure.
While working with the Wellington team, you will be also working across Beca offices and project sites with a focus on ensuring great project outcomes and delivery for our clients while solving complex technical, site and project challenges. As well as refining, developing, and building your technical civil engineering abilities, you will also have scope to build your project delivery, work package management, commercial, and team related skills. Your ability to build relationships will be important especially working across diverse project teams, and others based in different Beca offices. At Beca, working collaboratively to clearly understand client and project outcomes, is a key part of how we work to develop and deliver innovative civil engineering designs and technical solutions.
You will be using your relationship building and communication skills connecting both across Beca business lines and technical experts, as well as external with those parties involved in project delivery. You will be joining Beca’s Transport and Infrastructure business, which is one of New Zealand’s largest linear infrastructure professional services providers. You will be part of Beca’s Central Transport and Infrastructure business who have a growing track record in delivering outcomes for key markets including Land Transport, Land Development, Airports, Energy and related sectors. Ko wai koe | About you
To be successful in this role, you will have the credibility, confidence, and ability to operate across both small and large projects. While we do welcome applicants from a broad range of backgrounds, you will have demonstrated experience working in the civil engineering industry in New Zealand.
In this role, on a daily basis you will be able to apply your current civil engineering design experience, across a range of sectors, project types and infrastructure clients. This role will not suit a graduate or newly qualified applicant. You will have used a known 3D civil design software (preferably 12d) and AutoCAD in your career to date, being self-sufficient in undertaking engineering activities and managing timeframes and budgets to deliver successful design. Your 3D design experience will be underpinned by Engineering knowledge gained from university and throughout you career to date. Focus on Social Infrastructure in the urban environment is a benefit for this role, ideally having done land development or buildings/industrial civil projects.
Being a tertiary qualified professional in an Engineering discipline will be important for your success in this role. You may be working towards a professional chartered accreditation or interested in doing so with Beca and the support we can provide to achieve that. You will be passionate about good design and will have grown your skills within a similar consulting or contracting environment. You constantly seek better practice for the overall quality of our work and aim to make every day better for our clients.
