Our Civil Site team is seeking a Civil Designer to be based in our Oak Ridge, TN office. In this role, you'll be responsible for the preparation of designs and drawings for civil site elements of a project. You will need to be working as part of multi-discipline team therefore coordination and cooperation is essential. With the wide range of projects that Jacobs is currently on, and the pipeline of major projects forecasted, this excellent career opportunity would suit candidates looking to further their exposure and development in civil design. * High School Diploma/GED * 3+ years Civil design experience * Proficiency using design software such as: AutoCAD and MicroStation * USA citizenship is required Preferred Qualifications: In addition to the Basic Qualifications the ideal candidate might also have: * A working understanding of design and/or drafting software packages such as AutoCAD Civil3d and Microstation InRoads. * Knowledge and experience in preparing civil site design layouts. * An understanding of, or willingness to learn, relevant industry standards. * Effective communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication. Essential Requirements: Physical Requirements: Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur during a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences. May transport light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks, and laptops. Work Environment: Work to be completed in Oak Ridge, TN. Work may be completed in secure facilities as required. Criticality of Attendance: Must be able to work 40-hour week overlapping the core work hours of 09:00 to16:00 Monday through Thursday in the office in Oak Ridge, TN. Occasional flexibility is available as needed. Equipment and Machines: Standard office equipment and machines: personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies.
