The Capital Improvement Program Team is now recruiting for one full-time exempt CIP Project Manager. Seeking a highly motivated, innovative, customer-driven candidate to oversee CIP projects within the City and County of Broomfield.
This position is typically scheduled Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (additional hours may be required and may include evenings or weekends, as necessary). City and County of Broomfield Total Compensation Package
Salary Range: $51.43 - $69.58/hour; $106,974.40 - $144,726.40/annually
19 days vacation + 10 sick days + 12 holidays paid per year

Candidate performs professional duties related to the planning, coordinating, managing, and implementing of Capital Improvement Projects. Manages CIP projects from conceptual design through construction and warranty periods.
* Manages Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) in the categories of buildings, streets, multimodal, utilities, trails, drainage facilities, recreation facilities, and parks.
* Monitors and coordinates budgets, schedules, and progress for CIP work. Prepares design and construction schedules, contracts, and cost estimates.
* Writes Requests for Proposals, Requests for Qualifications, contracts, and memorandums to City Council. Prepares bid documents for construction.
* Supports grant funding applications and management and public engagement activities during pre-design through construction activities.
* Supervises the work of designers and contractors to assure compliance with City and County of Broomfield standards and specifications. Presents information to various City Council appointed Advisory Committees and the City Council regarding CIP projects.
* Works with the customers in Public Works, Community Development, Open Space, and Parks & Recreation departments to assure that their needs are being met on their projects. Solicits input from the departments who will maintain the area of work once the Capital Project is complete.
* Coordinates closely with outside agencies such as CDOT, RTD, MHFD and neighboring jurisdictions.
* Assists in the development of CIP goals, policies, and annual work program using information about Broomfield's infrastructure and its overall relationship to the Broomfield Comprehensive Plan. Assists in identifying issues and making recommendations for long-term capital improvement planning.
Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering, city planning, architecture, related engineering field, or construction management. P.E. license preferred.
Experience - Five years of progressively responsible professional experience in the design, installation, management, and construction of building construction and/or civil engineering projects including utility, roadway, drainage, and park and trail projects as appropriate to the position.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record for continued employment. Some of the employee's time is spent at project sites with subsequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions and to a wide variety of potential safety hazards common to project sites; e.g., heavy machinery, road traffic, heavy materials, etc. Travel by pickup/automobile is required to reach project sites. Work is generally scheduled Monday through Friday with some evening and weekend hours.
