Summary

The Child Nutrition Cooperative Manager oversees the operations of a multi-district child nutrition cooperative, ensuring procurement compliance with federal and state regulations while promoting affordable, high-quality, nutritious meals for students.  

Qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to generate reports, analyze data, and present information
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping and compliance monitoring
  • Ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including school administrators, vendors, and staff
  • Background involving K12 school districts preferred

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the daily operations of the child nutrition cooperative and serve as the point of contact for member school districts and vendors.
  2. Lead food procurement efforts, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships with vendors.
  3. Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and ensure adherence to all federal and state child nutrition program requirements.
  4. Identify opportunities for program enhancements, cost savings, and increased participation in child nutrition programs.
  5. Establish and enforce policies to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the child nutrition cooperative.
  6. Coordinate and lead monthly meetings with child nutrition cooperative and is responsible for documenting and facilitating next steps.
  7. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with vendor partners and key stakeholders at member school districts.
  8. Drive awareness of child nutrition cooperative with CIESC member school districts through a variety of marketing vehicles.
  9. Adhere to CIESC’s Code of Ethics and maintain a positive, service-oriented image for CIESC.
  10. Attend monthly CIESC staff meetings and relevant conferences for professional development and continuing education.
  11. Complete other duties and tasks as assigned by the Cooperative Programs Director.
  12. Reports to and is evaluated by the Cooperative Programs Director.
