Summary
Chief Engineer Responsibilities
STRICTLY FOR CANDIDATES WITH TWO-WHEELER EXPERIENCE ONLY.
Program Leadership: Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with company vision and market needs.
Vehicle Integration: Lead the Vehicle Integration Function, ensuring overall program-level planning from Kick Off to Start of Production, D&D Budgeting and control, and signing off the BOM based on the targeted customer segment in comparison with core and adjacent benchmarks.
Development Milestones: Ensure deliverables as per the different development milestones of the new product development process.
Change Management: Oversee Engineering Change Management. Implement Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) strategies for profitability improvement over the product's life cycle, ensuring cost engineering and perceived value to targeted customers.
Head Of Chassis Engineering Responsibilities
Chassis System Expertise: Lead the design, development, optimization, and validation of vehicle chassis systems, including frame design, suspension, braking, and other related components.
Vehicle Dynamics: Utilize expertise to influence design decisions, aiming for optimal handling, ride, stability, and safety characteristics.
Fixture and Test Setup: Design fixtures and test setups for static and dynamic data acquisition testing.
Strain Gauging: Conduct strain gauging for structural components like chassis, Swing Arm, etc.
Failure Analysis: Conduct failure analysis for structural components such as the swing arm, chassis, etc.
Prototyping and Validation: Plan and execute different prototype builds and validation at various milestones of the program.
Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives leveraging the latest industry trends and technologies to enhance chassis system performance, efficiency, and overall product quality.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with design, production, quality assurance, and other relevant teams to ensure an integrated approach to chassis development.
Qualifications And Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 10-15 years of experience in chassis systems design and development, within the two-wheeler industry.
Strong understanding of vehicle architecture, dynamics, and overall product design.
Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for design and simulation purposes.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Strong communication, leadership, and team collaboration skills.
Ability to manage projects from concept to completion, meeting strict deadlines and quality standards.
